Uruguay’s triumph against Wales in the World Cup

After the hard fall against India in the debut, The Maroons recovered with a great 3-2 victory against the Welsh National Team to stay alive in the Pre-World Cup in Hyderabad, Telangana. A very close match, which began with Uruguay down on the scoreboard thanks to the goal of Anja Atkin (5′) just 5′ into the match.

The tie would not come until the last minute of the second quarter, when Manuela Vilar del Valle (29′) would put things 1 to 1 in India. Already in the third quarter, Las Cimarronas would hit the table and in just five minutes they went from tying to provisionally winning 3 to 1, with goals from Agustina Díaz (36′) and Teresa Viana (41′). In the fourth and final quarter, Wales would score thanks to Rachel Goodwin (48′)but it would not be enough to prevent the victory of Las Cimarronas.
