URBA Top 14 Macro Cup: all the results and summaries of the first date
This Saturday March 14 was disputed first date of the URBA Top 14 Macro Cup presenttada by Zurich.
Newmandefending champion, began his journey with a victory against Buenos Aires in Benavídez, while SIC did the same before Belgrano in Boulogne. Meanwhile, the ALMOST surpassed Champagnat in Pilar and Alumni he beat CUBA in Tortuguitas.
In turn, The Matreros celebrated his return to the top category against Regattas in local condition. While Hindu defeated The Linden Trees in Don Torcuato and Atlético del Rosario defeated The Silver in Manuel Gonnet.
Hindu 52-18 Los Tilos
In a very eventful match, where there was absolutely everything, Hindú strengthened itself as the minutes passed to end up achieving an important win, with bonus included, of 52-18 against Los Tilos. The first 20 minutes of the duel were intense but very even, without either of them being able to impose conditions. Alumni 27-25 CUBA
The Tortuguitas team won it in time with a try by Antonio Wagener converted by Bautista Canzani, who also added three conversions and two penalties. The game was difficult for the home team at the beginning, as CUBA gained a 10-0 lead with Pedro Castro Nevares’ try and Rafael Benedit’s conversion and penalty. La Plata 29-36 Atlético del Rosario
In a changing match with a lot of back and forth in Gonnet, Atlético del Rosario showed greater forcefulness to win against La Plata in their return to the highest category of rugby in Buenos Aires. The local team started ahead on the scoreboard, but the visiting team reacted and struck with two tries from Juan Cruz Bertero, added to the precision of Manuel Nogués, perfect on the goalposts in the first half (4 of 4), to go into the break with a 20-11 lead. In the second half, La Plata got back into the game and even took the lead by the minimum (24-23), but the reaction was short-lived. The Rosario team regained control and struck again to definitively tip the balance in their favor. Manuel Nogués was the great figure of the afternoon with notable effectiveness on the goalposts (7 out of 8). On the local side, Joaquín Núñez’s three tries and Santino Di Luca’s kicks (5 out of 7) were not enough, while center Tomás Malanos also supported those from Santa Fe. The final result was 36-29 for the visit, which took the first game in the premiere of the Top 14 of the URBA.

In the premiere of the contest, Plaza was superior to his rival in a changing and high-adrenaline match, and took a much celebrated victory.
SIC 58-18 Belgrano
The start of the game could not have been better for the San Isidro team, who although they started losing due to a penalty from Juan Landó, after that they completely dominated the game, prevailing in contact with their forwards, and also taking advantage of the good management of their backs. Ciro Plorutti achieved a victory after leaving a ruck, and then everything got worse for the visit in yellow to Lisandro García Dragui. Los Matreros 27-25 Regattas
Just two minutes into the game, left winger Santiago Marelli asked for the ball on the inside, managed to break the defensive line and scored the first try of the match to put Los Matreros ahead. On the Regatas side, Camerlinckx was the protagonist in two conquests: The first one he supported himself on the edge of the field, and in the other play, he cut down the center after feinting a pass and then assisted Felipe Rugolo, fullback of the Bella Vista team. Already in the second half, the first points went to Los Matreros thanks to a precise penalty from 40 meters converted by their opening. However, with ten minutes remaining and after a prepared line play for Regatas, first row Tomás Barbaccia scored the try that turned the game around by just one point. At the end of the match, the Los Matreros flyhalf managed to score with his foot from the top of the 22m and give the victory to the locals.
