Faithful to his tennis, Jannik Sinner (2nd in the ATP ranking) he went out on his own Indian Wells Masters 1000 to demonstrate why he is one of the two best of the moment. With a final 6-3 and 6-2, the tano won against Denis Shapovalov (39th) to get into the round of 16 of the North American competition.

It was a match where the protagonists were the show of the former number one in the world, with his endless rallies and arrivals at balls that seemed impossible and, on the other hand, the constant unforced errors of a Canadian, who was not enough with his 11 winners. In addition, the seven double faults he collected tilted Court 1 of the Indian Wells Tennis Garden to make a comeback impossible.

In this way, Sinner continues to achieve an incredible achievement in the first Masters 1000 of the season: reach the round of 16 in all their presentations (5 out of 5). While in 2021 and 2022 he fell in said round, it was in 2023 and 2024, respectively, where he achieved his best appearance (semifinals), although he could not overcome more than that, for now…

It should be remembered that last season the Italian could not be present due to his suspension for doping, so he does not defend points unlike Carlos Alcaraz (1st)his predecessor in the world ranking, who entered the top four in 2025.

Now the Italian will have a tough task if he wants to get into the quarterfinals, since he will face the winner of the duel between Joao Fonseca (35th) and Tommy Paul (24th).
