Rassie Erasmus praises Gonzalo Quesada, and warns: “Italy can complicate England”
The coach of South Africa, Rassie Erasmus, surprised with words of admiration towards the Argentine Gonzalo Quesada, head coach of Italy, when analyzing the Azzurri’s moment in the Six Nations and his next duel against England for date 4 of the competition. In a warning that stood out in the world of rugby, the coach of the world champions assured that he would not be surprised if the Italian team defeated the English in Rome this weekend.
Erasmus especially valued Quesada’s work and the growth of the team, highlighting his discipline, speed on the defensive line and threat in attack. “Their coach is a great coach. The whole world respects him. If each player is available and they believe in what they do, they have a quality group”he stated.
The coach of the Springboks He also explained why he would not be surprised by an Italian victory over England, a rival they have not historically defeated: “When you meet a team that has all their players and really believes they can win, I wouldn’t be surprised if they do. I felt like they could have beaten us before.”. With that perspective, Erasmus highlighted the evolution under the command of Quesada, who has achieved unexpected results and kept his team as a real threat in the tournament.
The warning comes in a context in which England is not going through its best moment, after recent defeats in the competition against Ireland and Scotland, while Italy remains competitive and adding points in the table, showing a more solid version than in previous years.
