F1: Ranking of drivers after the GP in Brazil
Norris remains in ‘beast’ mode while Antonelli crowns an unforgettable weekend with a double podium
Sao Paulo left an entertaining competition in which Lando Norris left the best of his repertoire to take all possible points and consolidate his leadership in the F1.
To put together this driver classifier, we took everything done over the weekend, prioritizing the qualifying sessions and the race. We also consider the car each driver competes with, as well as the competitor’s years of experience.
1. Kimi Antonelli
Probably his best F1 weekend. The rookie not only achieved a double podium (2nd in Sprint and GP), he did so by closely following Lando on Saturday, and holding off Verstappen on Sunday. And with top rankings.
2. Lando Norris
The championship leader is in ‘perfect’ mode. Norris’ momentum is very high and he is taking advantage of it with weekends of maximum points. He has a champion rhythm.
3. Max Verstappen
A complicated weekend left the multi-time champion in third position in the grand prix. To get the podium, the Dutchman made a tremendous comeback from the bottom.
4. Pierre Gasly
Quietly, Gasly continues to leave important points for his team. The Alpine is the worst car on the grid, but Pierre still manages to be competitive.
5. Oliver Bearman
He rowed from qualifying for the sprint, until on Sunday he achieved the best possible result, positioning himself behind the winning cars and taking full advantage of Ferrari’s mistakes.
6. Nico Hulkenberg
Hulk squeezed Sauber to start in the top 10 and reach the end in the points zone. A well-fought ninth place in the middle of the table.
7. Liam Lawson
He managed to defend his position on the track, not without receiving complaints from Bearman, but Lawson, beyond styles, is a driver who in the second part of the season has demonstrated his competence in an F1.
8. Isaac Hadjar
A good classification was complicated in the race. Maybe he had more pace, but in the end he had to settle for chasing his teammate. Good result for the Bulls.
9. George Russell
The podium disappeared and the Briton was surpassed in each session by his rookie teammate. But, Russell gets good points for the constructors’ championship.
10. Oscar Piastri
Another weekend in which Piastri leaves with ‘crumbs’ in terms of the championship. An error in the Sprint left him without points, and in the grand prix another one cost him a 10-second penalty and possibly the podium.
