Lynx discard Napheesa Collier for the fourth game for ankle injury

Napheesa Collier was injured 21.8 seconds from the end of the Lynx defeat in the third game against the Mercury, after his left leg made contact with the base of Phoenix, Alyssa Thomas.

Phoenix – Lynx’s eaves, Napheesa Collier, was ruled out for the fourth Minnesota game against the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA semifinals due to what the team describes as a left ankle injury.

Sunday’s game is crucial for Lynx, who are losing 2-1 in the series to the best of five.

Collier was injured 21.8 seconds from the end of the Lynx defeat by 84-76 in the third game against the Mercury, after his left leg made contact with the base of Phoenix, Alyssa Thomas, when Thomas tried to steal the ball, which caused Collier to fall hard on the ankle.

Collier limited to the bank, where he sat. Finally, she was assisted to get out of the court before the end of the game. Then, Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said “it was probably a fracture,” but did not give more details.

The Lynx also did not give more details about Collier’s injury than those listed in Saturday’s injury report or provided a deadline for recovery.

The play in which Collier was injured caused Reeve to break into the court to shout at an arbitrator, which caused his expulsion. He received his second technical lack of the party, which resulted in his expulsion.

During the press conference after the game, Reeve criticized the referees, stating that it was “negligence” that this group arbitrated a semifinal party of the WNBA, and demanded a change of leadership in the league with respect to who is in charge of the arbitration.

The WNBA announced that Reeve would be suspended by a game for their “conduct and comments” in the third game, which included “persecuting aggressively and verbally abusing a arbitrator on the court, not leaving the court in time after its expulsion, inappropriate comments to the fans when leaving the court and comments made in the press conference after the game.”

Reeve will fulfill its suspension during the fourth game, which will force LYNX to fight the elimination without their coach or their star player.

Collier lost seven consecutive games between July and August for a right ankle sprain. Minnesota had a 5-2 record without her during that period.
