What clubs arose the Sydney lions

25 years after the great sports feat at the Olympic Games that were played in Australia, We review the institutions that saw the first steps of the silver medalists.

September will always be special for that group of players and coaching staff. But also for those who followed that team as fans, in silence and at dawn. Many of those serial encourages come from the clubs in which those lions arose. Where did they do the first steps?

Metropolitan

  • Mariela Antoniskka started at the Lomas Athletic club. Magdalena Aicega in Belgrano Athletic. Cecilia Rognoni, chosen as the best in the world in 2002, had a brief step through Miter and moved to Núñez, to the City of Buenos Aires Club

  • Mercedes Margalot began his sports career in St. Catherine’s.

  • Jorgelina Rimoldi did it at the Banco Nación Club.

  • Karina Masotta in Miter.

  • Vanina Oneto and María Paz Ferrari in San Fernando. María de la Paz Hernández emerged from Bacrc.

  • Paola Vukojic of San Isidro Club.

  • Laura Maiztegui, from the La Plata Club, Santa Barbara.

  • Anabel Gambero was part of the German Association Club of Quilmes.

Rosario, Córdoba and Mar del Plata

  • Luciana Aymar, the best player in the world seven times and considered legend, played her first games at the Rosario Fisherton club. In his adolescence the Jockey Club shirt has been dressing.

  • Soledad García, chosen by the International Federation twice (2002 and 2004) as the best player in the young world, began at the University of Córdoba.

  • Inés Arrondo passed to the Metropolitan of bigger, but began at the University of Mar del Plata

  • Ayelén Stepnik began at Rosario University
