Franco Colapinto: “We were on the wrong way”

The Argentine was penultimate in the classification for the Sprint and said that changes were made in his car after training, but they were not good.

Franco Colapint closed the classification for the Sprint in the 19th and penultimate place, put from which he must start this Saturday. The Alpine pilot took the same place as training, while Pierre Gasly, the teammate, arrived at the SQ3 and will leave from the eighth place.

A while after closing his work, the Argentine spoke with the press and his disappointment was noticed. “It cost, it wasn’t what we wanted. We made a couple of changes after the training to give the step I needed because it was complicated, but we went on the wrong way, ”said Colapint.

With the day closed, the Buenos Aires decided to turn the page and think on Saturday, when he will have to play the Sprint race and the classification for Sunday’s race. “You have to work for tomorrow (on Saturday), it is not a circuit that falls out well, to maximize for tomorrow. I will try to take the step we need and return stronger.”

Franco commented that he suffered from overheating the rear tires and that the second round of the qualy for the sprint became very difficult. So much so, it was the moment in which he got his best record of the day.
