The Colombian Egan Bernal battled in stage 7 of the Italian turn. He attacked in the mountain, but Juan Ayuso beat him and ended in third place. Passed to the 14th place of the general.

The first high mountain day received a caravan still shocked by the rugged arrival in Naples in which a good part of the platoon fell to the floor along the slippery route and bad weather.

He started from Castel Di Sangro Tagliacozzo and arrived at the Center Center in 168 kilometers to Tagliacozzo with two second category slopes and a leak of seven runners with a difference of 1:30 in front of the leaders.

In that second group, Colombians rolled, attentive at the last slope of first with maximum inclinations of 13 percent. The leader Mads Pedersen was relegated in a third in four minutes.

Egan Bernal and Nairo Quintana remained at the head of the persecuting lot that reduced the time in front of the escapes in the hardest part of the ascent. With the compact lot, Egan and Einer Rubio went up to the side of Primoz Roglic containing the attacks of Giulio Ciccone.

The Ineos leader threw himself for victory, however, the Spanish Juan Ayuso was more powerful in that ramp and won. The Colombian was third to four seconds. His fight had a prize in the general classification, he went up 14 to 0:46 of the new Roglic leader.

Einer Rubio is 17 to 1:04; Nairo Quintana 24 to 2:44; Daniel Martínez 52 to 12:27 and Brandon Rivera 66 to 17:29.

The eighth stage will have 197 kilometers from Giulianova to Castelraimondo with a first mountain port in the middle of the journey at 1,465 meters above sea level.
