3-0: Son shines in the Los Angeles derby

Los Angeles FC beat this Friday 3-0 Los Angeles Galaxy in the Los Angeles derby MLSknown as ‘El Tráfico’, one of the games with which the league resumed competition after a seven-week break for the World Cup. The American Mark Delgado and the Frenchman Denis Bouanga, from the maximum penalty, put LAFC ahead in the first half, while Son Heung-min sealed the match after the restart, the South Korean’s first in the MLS this season

In the other game this Friday, Nashville won 1-0 against Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino’s Atlanta United thanks to a header from Ghanaian striker Shak Mohammed in the 79th minute. With this victory, Nashville remains the firm leader of the Eastern Conference with 36 points, five more than Inter Miami. LAFC, for its part, rises to fifth position in the West.

These two games bring to a close the weekday with which the MLS has resumed the competition after an unusual seven-week break for the FIFA World Cup, which ended just before the tournament final.
