Gator Women's Hoops Bounced From SEC Tourney

The University of Florida women's basketball team is out of the SEC Tournament after losing to Auburn 74-61 Thursday in Duluth, Georgia.

Florida got off to a bad start, trailing Auburn 7-0 before going on an 8-0 run to take the lead. However, it would be the only lead Florida would have all day as Auburn junior guard Alli Smalley goes off for a career high 35 points.

She got help from junior forward Jordan Greenleaf who scores 21 points and grabs 14 rebounds as the Tigers advance to a second round game today against second seed Kentucky.

Florida (14-16) gets 14 points from senior Steffi Sorensen in the loss; incredibly, the Gator season might not be over as they are expected to receive a WNIT bid soon.

In other action, Ole Miss tops South Carolina and will play top seed Tennessee today. Vanderbilt tops Arkansas and they'll play LSU while Georgia beat Alabama to move to a game today against Mississippi State.
