Gator Baseball Loses; Softball Wins; Track Champs

The University of Florida men's track team is celebrating a national title today after it wins the NCAA Indoor Track Championship held over the weekend in Arkansas.

The Gator women also did well, finishing fourth. In the course of action, Florida won national titles in women's shot put (Miriam Kevkhishvilli), women's mile (Charlotte Browning), men's 60 meter dash (Jeff Demps), and men's triple jump (Christian Taylor).

In other Gator action, the Florida softball team wins the rubber game of a three game series with Ole Miss 5-3. Megan Bush drives in three runs to lead the Gators and Stephanie Brombacher gets her 14th win in the circle as well. The Gators are 2-1 in the SEC and 18-3 overall and their next action is this Wednesday against Auburn.

The Gator baseball team falls 6-3 to Charleston Southern. Florida (11-3) could not solve Buccaneer pitcher Tyler Thornburg who throws a 158 pitch complete game to get the win. Florida starting pitcher Tommy Toledo had to leave the game after being hit in the nose with a line drive and he suffered a broken nose and multiple facial fractures; he did leave the field under his own power after being hit.

The Gators will play Monday night against Army.
