The University of Florida men's basketball team got some good news and bad news recently.
Gator head coach Billy Donovan reportedly turned down a three million dollar offer to become the new head coach at St.John's University. However, it looks like Donovan could be losing another player to transfer.
The Gainesville Sun is reporting this morning that sophomore guard Ray Shipman will transfer barring a last minute change of heart after he is scheduled to meet with Donovan today. Shipman has publicly said in the past he has been frustrated with his lack of playing time. He averaged about 12 minutes a game this season and averaged a little over two points a game.
Last season forward Alex Tyus announced he was going to transfer but after meeting with Donovan he changed his mind and returned for his junior season.
Florida has two players signed for next season and is actively recruiting more. Up in the air is the status of forward Adam Allen who has not played all year because of injury and center Kenny Kadji is recovering from back surgery but he is expected to make a full recovery.
