Both Gator Hoops Teams Play FAMU Tonight

Both University of Florida basketball teams will be in action today and both teams will play Florida A&M University at home.

The Gator women (3-3) will face the Rattlers (3-2) at 4:30pm. The Gators are coming off a win against FIU at the FIU Classic last weekend and FAMU is coming off a loss to Auburn on November 28th when the Tigers won 69-45. FAMU had one player score in double figures as Deidra Jones scored 16 points.

The number 13/17 Gator men (6-0) take on a FAMU team that is 0-7 on the season; AM 850 and Rock 104 have live coverage starting at 6:25pm.

The Rattlers were 10-21 a year ago and have already played teams like Stanford and Georgia Tech this season. Senior guard Brandon Bryant leads the Rattlers at 9.3 points a game while 6'6" junior guard Christopher Walker adds 9.0 points a game with a team leading 6.1 rebounds a game. 6'8" forward Yannick Crowder averages 8.7 points and 5.7 rebounds a game.

The Gators are coming off impressive wins over then second ranked Michigan State and Rutgers in a tournament in New Jersey. Guard Erving Walker was also named the SEC Player of the Week for his performances in those games.
