Gators Win 18th Straight Win Win Over Georgia

The University of Florida football team won its 18th straight game by beating the Georgia Bulldogs 41-17 Saturday in Jacksonville. Florida is now 8-0 on the year while Georgia drops to 4-4.

Florida is also now 17-3 against Georgia in the last 20 meetings between the two teams.

Florida quarterback Tim Tebow accounted for four touchdowns in the game, two throwing and two running. The first rushing touchdown allowed him to break Georgia star Herschel Walker's SEC record for most rushing touchdowns.

The Gator defense did the rest, picking off four Georgia passes with linebacker Brandon Spikes returning one for a touchdown late in the game. Fellow linebacker A.J. Jones had two of the four picks and linebacker Ryan Stamper had the other.

The Gator offense was more diversifed with more players getting to touch the ball as Florida took an early 14-0 lead on Tebow's two touchdown passes to wide receiver Riley Cooper and the Gators never gave up the lead.

Florida next hosts Vanderbilt on Saturday.
