Several Gators Cut By NFL Teams

Several former University of Florida football players were cut from NFL teams over the weekend as teams had to get down to the league limit of 53 players.

Three Gators were let go by the St.Louis Rams; quarterback Brock Berlin, defensive back Todd Johnson and offensive lineman Phil Trautwein. Trautwein was picked up by Cleveland.

Offensive lineman Tavares Washington was let go by Kansas City; offensive lineman Carlton Medder was released by Arizona. Wide receiver Dallas Baker was cut by Pittsburgh. Tight end Aaron Walker was given his walking papers by Cleveland.

Former Gator long snapper James Smith has apparently made the roster of the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent.
