All Three Florida NFL Teams Lose

It was not a good day Sunday for Florida teams in the National Football League as all three lost their opening games of the season.

Jacksonville played very well defensively but lost 14-12 at Indianapolis. Maurice Jones-Drew rushed for almost 100 yards and a score but it was not enought to get the win.

Dallas beats Tampa Bay 34-21 in the debut of new Bucs coach Raheem Morris. Dallas quarterback Tony Romo throws for a career best 353 yards and three scores in the win.

Miami loses 19-7 to the Atlanta Falcons. New tight end acquisition Tony Gonzalez pays immeidate dividends for Atlanta, catching a TD pass as the Falcons defense does the rest.

In other games, both New York teams start out with wins; the Giants top Washington 23-17 while the Jets down Houston 24-7. Rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez threw for 272 yards for the Jets and Thomas Jones ran for 107 yards as well.

Joe Flacco threw for over 300 yards as Baltimore downs Kansas City 38-24; Matt Hasselbeck throws for three scores to lift Seattle to a 28-0 win over St.Louis; Drew Brees throws six touchdown passes as New Orleans downs Dtroit 45-27; Philadelphia routs Carolina 38-10 but got some bad news when quarterback Donovan McNabb broke a rib in the game and his status for this week is uncertain.

San Francisco upsets last year's NFC champion Arizona 20-16; a tipped pass late gives Denver a 12-7 win over Cincinnati; and former Gator Percy Harvin caught a touchdown pass as Minnesota downs Cleveland 34-20.
