Former University of Florida basketball star Nick Calathes was selected in the second round of the NBA Draft last night in New York.
Calathes was taken by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the 45th pick but his rights were then dealt to the Dallas Mavericks.
Calathes has an offer to play professionally overseas after announcing he was leaving school to not play his junior year. He can play overseas (he has a two year deal to play in Greece) and later return to the NBA with the Mavericks holding his league rights. Or, he could pay a buyout and opt to play in the NBA right away.
