Bucs And Fins Win; Jags On MNF Tonight

The Tampa Bay Buccanneers are now 9-3 on the year after beating the New Orleans Saints 23-20 Sunday in Tampa.

The win keeps the Bucs in a first place tie with Carolina in the NFC South; the Panthers kept pace with a 35-31 win at Green Bay.

Miami is now 7-5 after edging St.Louis 16-12 in a game that was anything but pretty but the Dolphins will certainly take the win. Miami is now one game behind division leading New York in the AFC East after the Jets were thumped 34-17 at home by Denver. The Broncos lead the AFC West by three games with a 7-5 record.

In other games, the New York Giants are 11-1 after beating Washington 23-7; Pittsburgh is 9-3 and leaders in the AFC North after beating New England 33-10 as Ben Roethlisberger threw two touchdown passes for the Steelers. Indianapolis is all of a sudden 8-4 as the Colts nip Cleveland 10-6.

Atlanta is now a surprising 8-4 after beating San Diego 22-16 as rookie quarterback Matt Ryan throws two touchdown passes for Atlanta. Kansas City gets its second win, beating Oakland 20-13. San Francisco beat slumping Buffalo 10-3; Baltimore is now 8-4 after blasting Cincinnati 34-3; and Minnesota crushes Chicago 34-14 in a game that featured a 99 yard touchdown pass from Vikings quarterback Gus Frerotte to wide receiver Bernard Berrian.

On Monday Night Football tonight, AM 850 has live coverage as the Jacksonville Jaguars visit the Houston Texans.
