The University of Florida football team moved back into the top ten in both major college football polls after its 51-21 whipping of LSU last Saturday night.
Florida is number five in the Associated Press poll and seventh in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll.
Texas is the new number one team in the land after beating previously top ranked Oklahoma on Saturday. The Longhorns have a tough home game this weekend against Missouri, which fell out of the top ten after a loss against Oklahoma State.
Alabama and Penn State are second and third in both polls with Oklahoma fourth in the AP poll and USC fourth in the USA Today poll. Texas Tech is fifth in that poll and Oklahoma is sixth with Florida, BYU, Georgia and Oklahoma State rounding out the top ten. In the AP poll, Texas Tech is seventh followed by Oklahoma State, BYU, and Georgia.
LSU fell to 13th in the AP poll and to 14th in the ESPN poll.
North Carolina enters both polls for the first time after beating Notre Dame. The Tar Heels are 21st in the USA Today poll and 18th in the AP poll.
The Gators have a bye this week before hosting Kentucky in their annual Homecoming game.
