Former Gator Milton Named To U.S. Olympic Team

Former University of Florida women's basketball player Delisha Milton-Jones has been named to the 2008 United States Olympic team in women's basketball.

The entire team was named today and it was dominated by former SEC players. Former Tennessee stars Kara Lawson, Candace Parker and Tamika Catchings made the team, as did former LSU players Seimone Augustus and Sylvia Fowles.

Milton-Jones has helped USA teams win gold at eight tournaments, including the 2000 Olympic Games. She was slated to be part of the 2004 U.S. Olympic team but was unable to compete because of injury.

Milton-Jones played at Florida under coach Carol Ross from 1993-97 where she won the Wade Trophy in her senior year, being named the top women's basketball player in the country.
