Clippers get a big man

While they couldn't get Elton Brand to return, the LA Clippers did find a big man for next season. Yesterday, the Clippers and Denver Nuggets came to a deal sending 6'11'' 235 pound Marcus Camby to LA.

In exchange for Camby, the Nuggets will have the option to exchange second round picks with LA if they would like in the 2010 draft. If it sounds like a steal to you, that's because it pretty much is. The Nuggets primarily made the move in order to clear cap room for years ahead. Camby carries over $10 million a year for the next two seasons.

"We felt like we needed to shake things up and do something a little bit radical to be able to create flexibility going forward," Nuggets vice president of player personnel Rex Chapman said in a conference call.

Meanwhile, the Clippers hope Camby and newly acquired Baron Davis can help improve its 23-59 record from last season.
