Cecchini leaves, freshmen take spot

The Gainesville Sun reports setter Alli Cecchini has left the Univesity of Florida Volleyball program, but will still attend classes at UF. Cecchini had the most experience at setter out of any returning player on the roster.

Head Coach Mary Wise says, ""Allison has had some tragedy in her personal life, so she's taking time to deal with that," Wise said. "There's no time table for her returning to the team. But she's enrolled in school, and all intentions are that she will return at a later time."

With Cecchini gone the Gators will turn to two freshman to take over their setter position. Cindy Bathelt and reigning Gatorade national prep volleyball player of the year, Kelly Murphy will be the favorites to take over the position. Florida's season starts August 29th against UAB.
