The Atlanta Braves began a crucial stretch of National League East games on a positive note Monday with a 4-0 win over the Florida Marlins.
Rookie Jorge Campillo pitched seven scoreless innings to get the win. The two teams meet again tonight and AM 850 has live coverage starting at 7pm after the Jack Del Rio Show at 6pm.
In other National League games, Milwaukee scores three in the tenth inning to beat St.Louis 6-3; San Diego tops Cincinnati 6-4; Pittsburgh scores seven runs in the ninth to beat Houston 9-3; Los Angeles rips Colorado 16-10 and Randy Johnson evens his record at 7-7 as Arizona shuts out Chicago 2-0.
In the American League, New York continues its winning ways with a 12-4 thumping of Minnesota; but the Yanks fail to gain any ground on first place Tampa Bay after the Rays blank slumping Oakland 4-0.
In other games, Boston blanks Seattle 4-0; Cleveland downs Los Angeles 5-2; Josh Hamilton hits his 22nd homer as Texas downs Chicago 6-1 and Detroit wallops Kansas City 19-4.
