Leak Signs In Canada; Sheppard To Skip Workouts

Three former University of Florida football players are making news today.

Former Gator quarterback Chris Leak is playing football again; he has signed with the Cannadian Football League and will play for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Former Gator defensive back Lito Sheppard wants a new contract with the Philadelphia Eagles and he is also not sure of his status on the team after it signed free agent defensive back Assante Samuel. To show his dissatisfaction, Sheppard skipped the first day of the team's voluntary camp; it is unclear if he will miss more time.

And former Gator defensive lineman Jeremy Mincey will receive an award from the NFL on Sunday. Mincey will receive the NFL Continuing Education Award, given to a player that completes his college degree while playing in an NFL season. Mincey completed his degree in recreation and tourism at the University of Florida.
