Pistons, Hornets Win NBA Playoff Games

The Detroit Pistons and the New Orleans Hornets both have gone up 2-0 in their respective best of seven series after posting wins last night.

Detroit beat Orlando 100-93 as guard Chauncey Billups leads the way with 28 points. Orlando kept it close most of the way and looked to have the lead after the third quarter but Billups shot a three that appeared to come after time had expired in the quarter but because the clock did not go down to zero, officials could not use replay to verify the shot. The three was allowed and Detroit ended the period up by two points.

Game 3 now shifts to Orlando.

Meanwhile, guard Chris Paul had 30 points as the Hornets blitz San Antonio 102-84. Tim Duncan had 18 points for the Spurs, who will now host Game 3 of this Western Conference series.

Tonight, Cleveland is at Boston for Game 1 of that Eastern Conference semifinal series.
