The Boston Celtics take Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series with Cleveland with a 76-72 win in Boston Tuesday night.
Kevin Garnett scored 28 points and hit a key late basket to help the Celtics take the win.
Tonight, Detroit is at Orlando where the Magic are down 2-0 in the series, and Utah is at the LA Lakers with the Lakers up 1-0.
Speaking of the Lakers, guard Kobe Bryant has won his first MVP award after the league announced he had won the award late yesterday. Bryant averaged 28 points a game, second only to LeBron James who averaged 30 a game, and also averaged six rebounds and five assists a game.
The Lakers star beat out New Orleans guard Chris Paul and Boston center Kevin Garnett for the award.
