The Florida baseball team now has the best record in the SEC after beating eighth ranked Ole Miss 10-2 Sunday in Oxford.
Florida is now 17-4 overall and 5-1 in the SEC while Ole Miss drops to 15-8 and 3-3 in league play.
The Gators took two of three in the series and for the third straight game, scored four runs early to open a big lead. In the second inning, an r-bi push bunt by Jon Townsend plated the first run; Brandon McArthur doubled in a run; and Matt Den Dekker and Buddy Munroe got rbi's as well on a ground out and sacrifice fly respectively.
Freshman righthander Tommy Toledo made it stand up, going a career best seven innings and giving up one run to move his record to 4-0.
The hitting stars for Florida were McArthur, who had three hits and Josh Adams, who hit a three run homer to break the game open. Three other Gators had two hits on the day as well.
Florida gets back to action Tuesday when it hosts Jacksonville University.
