The New Orleans Saints have announced a contract agreement with quarterback Mark Brunell, who last year lost the backup spot in Washington to Todd Collins. Brunell will be the backup to starter Drew Brees.
In other NFL free agent news, the Detroit Lions are parting ways with former top draft choice running back Kevin Jones who was plagued by injury and inconsistency during his time with the Lions.
And, former Tennessee Titans running back Chris Brown has signed a deal with the Houston Texans where he should be able to compete for the starting running back spot with Ahman Green. Brown has run for over 1,000 yards in a season one time in his career and also ran for 850 yards on another occasion.
