The University of Florida men's basketball team tries for its 10th straight 20 win season tonight when it hosts LSU. AM 850 will have live coverage of the game starting at 7:25pm.
Florida (19-5, 6-3 SEC) will face an LSU team that just fired its coach and a group that will play its second game under interim coach Butch Pierre. In its last game, LSU (8-14, 1-7 SEC) almost pulled the upset over nationally ranked Tennessee before losing by two points 47-45.
Many believe the Tigers will try to tempo the game against Florida as well, trying to keep it a low scoring game. LSU does have a nice player in guard Marcus Thornton; the junior college transfer averages almost 20 points a game. Forward Anthony Randolph averages 13.7 points and 8.5 rebounds a game.
The Tigers score an average of just 68 points a game and shoot only 31 percent from long distance. And, despite a relatively big front line, the Tigers are not a good rebounding team, being outrebounded by three boards a game.
Florida will next play on the road at Vanderbilt on Saturday.
