650 New Jobs a Possibility for Alachua and Bradfor County

Hundreds of jobs in Alachua County and Bradford County could become available soon 650 to be exact. The jobs are being created as part of the Florida Back to Work program funded by stimulus dollars. FloridaWorks is partnering with the Alachua County and Bradford County Chambers of Commerce to help people take advantage of these new employment opportunities. FloridaWorks Director of Workforce Operations Jose Gavarrette says that in order to get these jobs, people must meet certain requirements. And that website is www.FloridaWorksOnline.com. FloridaWorks will be hosting an eligibility and recruitment event for anyone interested in acquiring one of the 650 jobs in the program. The event will be held tomorrow and Saturday and will pick up again on February 25th and 26th. Gavarette says the event will help match people up with jobs they are interested in. The program pays for 95 percent of a worker's pay, benefits and training through September 30th. After that date, employers do not have to keep employees but some businesses signed commitments to try to keep workers even after that period is up. And when it comes to job creation, Gavarrette says a little bit can go a long way. Again, anyone who is interested in acquiring one of the 650 jobs in the Florida Back to Work program should visit www.FloridaWorksOnline.com.
