UF law school ranks in top 10

Aside from winning multiple national championships on the football field and on the basketball court, the University of Florida is being recognized for their achievements in the classroom as well. The UF Levin College of Law is ranked in the nation's top 10 best law schools, according to Super Lawyers magazine. Levin College of Law Dean, Robert Jerry, says he is very proud that the law college is getting some deserved recognition. The ranking by Super Lawyers magazine was based on the caliber of each school's graduates rather than on GPA and LSAT scores. The ranking methodology used by the maganize does not take class size into consideration. UF LCA board of trustees member, Oscar Sanchez, says he really likes the concept behind the magazine's ranking system. The only other law school in the state of Florida to be included in the ranking's top 50 is the University of Miami. Dean Robert Jerry says some larger law schools didn't make the list. Jerry says the graduation rate of law students at UF is 99%. 3rd year UF law student, Michael Maguire, says he thinks Levin does a great job of preparing students to be successful after graduation. Board trustee member ,Oscar Sanchez, says he has had great experiences with UF law school graduates. Jerry says when it comes to students getting admitted to Levin College of Law, they look for the total package, and not just test scores and grades. UF's Levin College of Law was ranked as the 8th best overall law school in the country and ranked 4th among public schools.
