Ethanol

The buzz surrounding ethanol has been a hot button issues for some time, leaving some to question whether ethanol is to blame for growing food prices. University of Florida Professor in microbiology Dr. Lonnie Ingram says the price of food has nothing to do with ethanol. Ingram says the type of corn used for ethanol is different than the edible corn. In grams explains how ethanol is produced and how it is converted into this reliable source. Ingram adds that it is a good alternative fuel source and is not harmful to the environment. Congress directed a fivefold increase to use ethanol as a motor fuel in an effort to cut gasoline by 20 percent by the year 2010.
