Gainesville women may need to hit the gym a little more than they think. A recent study conducted at the University of Pittsburg says women who exercise forty to sixty minutes a day, five days a week while dieting were more likely to keep the weight off after drastic weight loss. The groups of women were each placed in different groups combining moderate and intense variations. Personal trainer for Southwest Recreational gym Brian Dunlap says the level of intensity is not as important as simply being active. The women ranging from ages 21 to 45 limited themselves to a reduced calorie intake of twelve to fifteen hundred calories a day. Dunlap also adds that while circumstances such as injuries may inhibit some from physical activity we can control what we eat. The female participants were placed in behavioral weight-loss intervention, the support group setting added to the success of the participants. Dunlap adds that having someone to partner up with can help in a big way. Dunlap adds that exercise exists beyond the gym, you can get creative with your exercise simply by not taking short cuts taking the stairs instead of the elevator or mowing the lawn yourself are just some suggestions. The recommendation according to Pittsburg University was to exercise five days a week and maintain a healthy diet.
