Kids will be returning back to school sooner than you think, and many preparations need to be made. Immunizations top the list for back to school shoppers, and parents need to be aware, with the new school year comes new immunization rules. Supervisor of Health Services for Alachua County Schools, Patricia Hughes says Kindergarten parents need to get their children a new vaccine.
Hughes says the state noticed children were still getting mild cases of chicken pox, so parents shouldn't wait until the last minute.
Entering the school year, Hughes believes one of the largest concerns schools face is ensuring children have their proper medication.
And Hughes gives us a few reminders before the coming school year begins.
Students in Alachua County Public Schools return to class on August 18th.
