People in Alachua County and across the United States of America are spreading public awareness today for Earth Day. The holiday explores and reinforces ways to save the planet from emissions and global warming. University of Florida Emertis professor Alex Green of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering talks about what has done during his time at the university since the first Earth Day here and what he feels needs to be done to help our planet.

Even though the holiday is celebrating its 38th Anniversary today, Green goes on to say we still have a lot of issues with our planet and the environment that we need to address.

Green added the energy problem is a big issue in this country that is causing trouble to the environment and is something that needs to be addressed.
