Random steriod testing of high school athletes in florida turned up with a fairly good report card. Only one athlete tested positive for steroids. This is the first year in Florida where high school athletes have undergone testing. 425 student athletes were tested statewide. Spokesperson for the Florida High School Athletic Association says the results were encouraging. Dan Regan Spokesman for Drug Free Sports says the process is completely annonymous. Overall, coaches and athletes seem to be pleased with the way the organization conducts the tests. And Florida isn't alone when it comes to random drug testing and its results. The athlete who tested postive can appeal the decision or take a 90 day suspension. Baseball and softball athletes will continue to be tested for the rest of the year.
