Beginning July 8th, the Harn Museum of Art will open a new exhibition called Cultivating Spirits. It focuses on the ritual display of yams that occurs around the times of planting and harvesting. Curator of African Art at the Harn Museum Susan Cooksy, says the exhibit is for people of all ages. The exhibition will be on display until September 21st. Cooksy believes people should attend the exhibit because it is so unique. Admission to the Harn Museum of Art is free. Guests are welcome to join the museum for a Gallery talk on Sunday, July 13th at 3pm. It will be by Rick and Aase Thompson, world travelers and avid collectors, whose artwork is on view in the exhibition.
