This coming week, the Hippodrome will celebrate it's 35th Birthday with a downtown celebration they are calling "Light up the Night." It's a joint celebration to honor the Hippodrome’s 35th year in downtown Gainesville and to view the new CRA funded lighting enhancements at the Hippodrome. The celebration will take place at the Hippodrome State Theater from 6 to 8 P.M. During that time, all of your senses will be excited. Your ears will be soothed by the sounds of live jazz at 6 P.M. Your taste buds will be amazed by the birthday treats at 6:30. And your eyes will be in atonishment at the documentary which shows at 7:30. The event is free and open to the public.
