Can't think of anything to do this Saturday? Party like an animal! Well with the animals. Celebrate Earth Week at the SFCC Teaching Zoo with a Party for the Planet! Conservation Education Specialist at the Teaching Zoo Tarah Jacobs says Party for the Planet is a great way to learn more exciting animals. As part of a national zoo and aquarium effort to support amphibian conservation, this year's Party for the Planet is showcasing some special little hoppers. 2008 is the year of the frog becasue amphibeans are in extinction crisis right now so they are bringing attention to some of the cool amphibeans that we have here in our own backyards.
Creature crafts, toad abodes and wildlife games will entertain children while scheduled animal encounters will inspire everyone to improve the future for wildlife. And you might want to get there early. Tarah says last year's event brought in close to 400 people! Party for the planet will be this Saturday April 19th from 9 AM- 2 PM at the Santa Fe Teaching Zoo. Admission to the zoo is $4 for adults and $3 for children and seniors.
