University of Florida police shot and injured a student last night after he barricaded himself into his apartment at Corey Village Family Housing and threatened police officers. Kofi Adu-Brempong is a doctoral student from Ghana. University Police were called by a neighbor after the student was heard screaming in his apartment. UPD spokesman Jeff Holcomb says the officers tried to use non-violent means to calm Adu-Brempong down, but had to resort to force in the end. Police say no one else was injured during the struggle and Adu-Brempong is being treated at Shands at UF medical center.
