Charges against the student shot in Corry Village Tuesday have been filed with the State Attorney. Alachua County Judge Denise Ferrero found Wednesday that the report provided with the initial charges did not include sufficient facts to render probable cause for Kofi Adu-Brempong's arrest.
Amended charges and an arrest report were filed this morning with State Attorney Bill Cervone. Chief Investigator for the State Attorney's 8th Judicial Circuit Spencer Mann says the documents filed this morning more accurately reflect new information investigators did not have before.
The University Police Department initially filed six charges against Adu-Brempong who resisted officers and threatened them with a knife and pipe. Adu-Brempong was shot in the head by a UPD officer using a rifle. Sources report he remains at Shands and is listed in critical condition, though Shands officials say they do not have any patients listed under Adu-Brempong's name.
