Gainesville Fire Department is kicking-off an awareness campaign called "Keep the Wreath Green". This program aims to highlight safety during the holiday season. Fire department spokeswoman, Carol Davis, says they light the wreaths with green lights, and replace them with a red bulb every time there is a house fire. Davis says as people begin to fill their homes with decorations for the season, many holiday traditions can be fire hazards if not done properly. The program starts tonight at 5:30, and lasts through the month of December.
