Undocumented International Students at the University of Florida may be one step closer to obtaining permanent residency and citizenship. UF president Bernie Machen gave his support to the DREAM Act following a rally on campus yesterday. The DREAM Act aims to allow undocumented citizens the chance to apply to college and obtain citizenship after completing two years towards their bachelor's degree.Vice President of Internal affairs of CHISPAS, Yary Martinez hopes that Machen's support will help further their cause.CHISPAS who organized the rally teaches English to the Spanish community and advocates for immigrant rights .
