A recent string of shooting range related deaths has caused some to question the safety of the ranges. A man turned a range-rented gun on himself in Orlando last evening, making him the fourth in Central Florida since April. Gainesville Target Range President Ron Schema (shay-ma) says his is a membership-only non-renting range that provides safety instructions before people are allowed to shoot. Schema says it's unfortunate, but when people are motivated to take their own lives, they'll find a way. Schema says because he doesn't rent, his members have gone through the proper background checks to own firearms.
