A Starke man is in jail after admitting to abusing an 8-month-old boy. 28-year-old Ryan Wesson was arrested Tuesday for an incident stemming from May 1st, which caused severe injuries to the child, who is his girlfriend's son. Bradford County Sheriff's Office's Captain Brad Smith, says initially, Wesson told a different story of how the child was injured. Medical personnel then contacted the Sheriff's Office. And Smith says that after being arrested, Wesson confessed. Smith says the child sustained severe brain injuries that could cause permenant disability, as well as other injuries that are in various stages of healing. He says Wesson is on special suicide watch becuase of comments he made to officers when he arrived at the jail.
