Florida kicked off a new campaign to encourage residents and visitors to use the state's poison control hotline. The campaign's message is, "When the problem is poison, the answer is poison control." Spokeswoman for the Public Relations Agency for Florida Poison Control Neill Vining says the campaign’s main focus is to promote residents to know and use the hotline number. As a response for a large number of people needing emergency poison information in the state, Vining says they figured they would give it a try since nothing like this has been done in the past. The toll-free hotline for poison information, which is 800-222-1222 can be used for poison issues for people and pets.
