The Florida Supreme Court has postponed the execution of 51-year-old Wayne Tompkins. He had been scheduled to die October 28th, but the high court issued a stay of execution until November 18th. Tompkins was convicted of killing his girlfriend's 15-year-old daughter back in March of 1983. Governor Charlie Crist signed a third death warrant for Tompkins last week. He had been scheduled for execution in both 1989 and 2001, but he avoided death through previous appeals.
