A senior citizen confused the accelerator with the brake pedal yesterday and wound up running into the side of a building on N-W 8th Avenue. Gainesville Police Department Spokeswoman Summer Hallett says it was clearly an accident. Although it was only a mistake, Hallett says it was definitely an expensive one. They estimated damage on scene as about $5500 to her car, and about $10,000 to the building. The Gainesville Police Department is still investigating and no citation has been determined at this time.
