The dreaded yet expected increase in utilties prices has finally arrived. Gainesville Regional Utilties has announced an adjustment in the cost of electric to deal with the high cost of fuel. The cost increase is a direct pass-through charge in which customers pay what GRU has to pay for the fuel. Most customers will notice an increase of $3 this month. But customers can rest assured that GRU is not profiting from these measures.
Manager Bob Huzinger does not expect the costs to decrease anytime soon. If anything, costs are projected to increase more. However, GRU offers its customers bill management services with tips on how to save energy and cut costs. Customers can call GRU or visit them online at www.gru.com
